EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT
CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65

Proposition 65 is a California law that requires warnings for products that may expose users to even small amounts of over 900 chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. While the law applies only in California, many products sold elsewhere also carry these warnings, since manufacturers often can’t predict where their products will be sold or end up.

SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Proposition 65 requires a warning if a product could expose users to a listed chemical—unless it can be proven that the exposure is at least 1,000 times lower than the level shown in the most vast and extensive scientific studies to cause no observable reproductive harm in humans or animals.

As California explains, a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily indicate that a product violates any safety standards. Under Prop 65, Nuvi Global is required by law to include a warning on its products even if the potential lead exposure is up to 25 times lower than the Federal Agencies FDA’s established safe limit for adults. The law mandates a warning if a product contains more than half a microgram of lead in the recommended daily serving—equivalent to roughly one one-hundred-millionth of an ounce.

Lead is naturally occurring in the soil and thus prevalent in the food or supplements that we may eat daily.

Including but not limited to vitamins, herbs, vegetables, and minerals. Practically anything that can be ingested safely.

ARE NUVI GLOBAL PRODUCTS SAFE?

Yes! All of our products are obtained from the best all natural sources. Managing the lead content or any ingredient for that matter is something we take very seriously and are mindful of both the FDA’s and Californias recommended lead intake.

FOOD FOR YOU

Some everyday foods contain trace amounts of lead. Under Proposition 65 guidelines, each of the following could potentially require a warning for lead exposure based on a typical serving size:

Carrots, beets, sweet potatoes, spinach, lettuce, rice, Shellfish, bottom-dwelling fish, etc.

THE TOLERABLE INTAKE LEVEL FOR LEAD BY ORGANIZATION

The FDA and CA Prop 65 both have lead limit thresholds. The W.H.O. does not.
